Founder and President

Brent D. Griffin

As a Private Wealth Advisor, Brent is a Financial Services industry veteran; having started in 1999 with Morgan Stanley Dean Witter.  Since then, he has held various positions, including five years as a stock analyst specializing in the Environmental Services and Pollution Control sectors. During this period, he also served as Director of Research for a team of four analysts, himself included.   He was promoted into an investment banker position, more specifically as Director of Capital Markets.  There, he successfully led the firm’s efforts as a junior underwriter on the Blackstone Group and Orbitz.com IPO’s.  Upon transitioning back to the retail side of the business due to major industry disruptions in 2009, he held positions in retail banking until being presented with another opportunity as a Financial Advisor in 2013, where he remains committed to helping others to this day.


Brent has FINRA series 7, 63 and 66 licenses.  He also has licenses for Life, Health and Variable Products.  He attended Columbia College of Missouri (Financial Services), and the American College of Financial Planning.  He lives in Northern Illinois with his wife of 33 years.  They have two adult sons, a daughter-in-law and one grandson.

One of the ways we work with clients is by expanding the range of investment options that are available. In addition to traditional investments, we may include alternative strategies when appropriate. These investments can provide diversification benefits but also involve additional risks, including limited liquidity, and may not be suitable for all investors. Our goal is to support informed decision-making by providing clear, thoughtful analysis. We utilize planning tools and collaborate with third-party professionals to help clients evaluate their financial situation and consider available options in the context of their individual objectives.
 

The name has roots!  Officially started in 2025, the name RiverTree was originally conceived in 2012 from a biblical passage… (Psa 1:3).  It continually provides the inspiration to remain steady and be the voice of reason for our clients in spite of ever-changing market conditions
